CEBU CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas announced yesterday that 29,919 households are set to graduate from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps.
DSWD-7 Regional Director Shalaine Lucero said that a reassessment program revealed that these households have been identified as self-sufficient or at Level 3, meaning they no longer need the aid from the program to survive every day.
The identified beneficiaries will receive guidance through a transition program to help them maintain their self-sufficiency.
DSWD-7's focal person for Family Development Sessions Analy Janaban said that the results of the reassessment stem from the Social Welfare and Development Indicator, a tool used to evaluate and monitor the living conditions of 4Ps households.
SWDI uses 56 indicators to categorize households into three levels: Survival (Level 1), subsistence (Level 2), and self-sufficiency (Level 3).
The reassessment found that 6,707 families from Bohol, 17,005 families from Cebu, 2,402 families from Negros Oriental, and 1,059 families from Siquijor have reached Level 3.
Lucero said that being in Level 3 means that these families have improved their well-being and achieved self-sufficiency.
DSWD-7 began evaluating 4Ps beneficiaries in the region identified as non-poor by Listahan 3 in August to determine their program graduation readiness.
