Low-cost airline AirAsia Philippines is committing to provide affordable ticket prices to holiday-goers in December.

The airline expects to fly some 450,000 guests to domestic and international destinations during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Keeping ticket prices affordable is essential, especially with more travelers planning their flights for Q1 2024, says Air Asia country head for Communications and Public Affairs first officer Steve Dailisan.

"It is our commitment to provide our guests with the lowest ticket price in the market whilst maintaining our positive on-time performance and the utmost consideration for safety," he said.

"We know that a lot of Filipinos save money and allot their time for quick get-aways either in the provinces or their bucket list abroad. For this reason, AirAsia Philippines is offering various promos which will delight our guests and help them fulfill their travel plans," Dailisan added.

Book ahead

AirAsia Philippines is also advising its guests to book their flights and schedule travel time ahead of the holiday rush, avoiding travel on high traffic dates such as Christmas and New Year's Eve to avoid the added congestion.

Last year during the Christmas holiday peak, the Manila International Airport Authority recorded a high of 125,000 daily passenger arrival and departure. The Bureau of Immigration, on the other hand, logged 32,000 arrivals on Christmas Eve.

"While we cannot avoid last-minute changes in travel arrangements, it really pays off to plan ahead. This way you can still get the best value for your money and foresee days which are more less-hassle for travel," Dailisan said.

For those extending their vacation after the holidays, AirAsia is offering 22 percent off on flights — from P79 to P449 one-way base fare domestic and from P479 to P2,838 for international flights — with the AirAsia 22nd Birthday Sale.

Simply book your flights from 27 November to 3 December with a travel period between 8 January to 30 September 2024.

Pre-booked AirAsia ancillary products are also heavily discounted. Guests who book their baggage via airasia.com or Superapp can enjoy up to 71 percent off versus actual airport price.

Santan meals and other goodies, including holiday favorites bibingka and AirAsia's newest 92' Signature Blend specialty coffee, are also up to 24 percent off when pre-booked online.
