Man with pen gun arrested

The Manila Police District Sta. Cruz Police arrested Saturday morning a 38-year-old man for possessing a "pen gun" loaded with a bullet in Quiapo Manila.

Police identified the suspect as  John Carlo Cacal y Dacanay, male, 33 years old, residing at Blk 8 Lot 46 Tanguile Street, Nova Homes, Novaliches Quezon City

Suspect Cacal was arrested yesterday at 10:55 p.m. along Carlos Palanca corner P. Ducos, Quiapo, Manila

The suspect was arrested at a checkpoint in Sta. Cruz, Manila when he started to evade police who had spotted a "pen gun" placed in his pocket.

Confiscated evidence were one improvised firearm "pen gun" and one .38 Caliber Live Ammunition,

Charges for violation of RA 10591 in relation to RA 7166 omnibus election code (Gun Ban) will be filed against the suspect at the Manila City Prosecutors Office.
