Lingayen MSMEs hoping for robust earnings

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — With the start of the Christmas bazaar at the provincial capitol beach park here on Friday, some 60 micro, small and medium-sized companies offering a variety of goods and food products are hoping to increase their earnings.
Among them was Janice Bernardino, who told the Philippine News Agency that the annual bazaar put on by the local government doubles her income.
"The bazaar has been profitable for me for the last two years that I have participated. The best-selling toys for kids are the ones with lights," she said.
Bernardino sets up shop at Lingayen Beach on regular days, selling toys for kids.
A food stall vendor named Sally Dapuyen, on the other hand, told PNA that their best-selling dish is the Vigan empanada, despite it not coming from Pangasinan.
"I've been joining the bazaar since 2012 and the income is good because there are a lot of people," she stated.
