
The local government of Manila recently launched simultaneous job fairs in the city last Friday spearheaded by Manila and the Department of Labor and Employment-National Capital Region.
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna disclosed that thousands of jobless Manilans have been hired during the "Mega Job Fair" held at the Arroceros Forest Park in Ermita, Manila, beside the Central LRT Station and the Metropolitan Theater from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The job fair attracted a large number of job seekers and resulted in the hiring of numerous individuals across various industries.
Simultaneously, the "Kalinga sa Maynila PESO Job Fair" was held from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the corner of Maria Clara and Ibarra Streets in Sampaloc, Manila organized by Barangay 498, District IV and offered around 2,500 job openings.
Both job fairs were open to a wide range of applicants, including high school graduates, college level, college, and tech/voc graduates.
Lacuna commended the efforts of the Public Employment Service Office headed by Fernan Bermejo in organizing these successful job fairs as she stressed the importance of providing employment opportunities to jobless Manilans, enabling them to become productive members of society.
The Manila mayor also encouraged private companies to continue supporting the city government's efforts in assisting unemployed residents.
