C. Luzon Malasakit Centers help 159k patients

Central Luzon now has 15 Malasakit Centers that provide financial and medical assistance to the indigent and financially incapacitated patients, two of which are in Bataan province.
The Malasakit Center, a brainchild of Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, has assisted 159,536 patients in Central Luzon from January to December 2022, according to the Department of Health.
DoH Central Luzon Center for Health Development Malasakit Program Unit Senior Health Program Officer Catherine Suril said Malasakit Centers serve as a one-stop shop where indigent and financially incapacitated patients can avail of medical and financial assistance from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and DoH.
"Ang Malasakit Center ay nagsisilbing one-stop shop sa pagbibigay ng tulong medikal at pinansyal sa mga indigent at financially incapacitated na mga pasyente," Suril said.
"Indigent and financially incapacitated patients can avail medical assistance based on their health needs, as assessed by the registered social worker of the hospital, through the Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients Program of DoH," Suril explained.
