The mayor also commended Manila's Department of Social Welfare chief Re Fugoso for making the city's social workers undergo training on Case Management to equip them with know-how on dealing with children who are drug users.
"Our MDSW is actively working to protect the welfare, especially of street children, under the supervision of the Reception and Action Center, Manila Boystown and various private institutions," Lacuna said.
Fugoso, on the other hand, reported that a total of 1,568 street children who, along with their families, are given care at the Kamada Center located inside the Manila Boys' Town Complex.
