We will assist its rehabilitation through a technical partner, perhaps, then we will start monetizing them

Maharlika Investment Corp., or MIC, President and chief executive officer Rafael Consing Jr. on Wednesday said he is looking to prioritize investments for rehabilitation of energy facilities and construction of tourism infrastructure.
Consing said these facilities include Agus Hydroelectric Power Plant in Lanao del Sur and Caliraya-Botocan-Kalayaan Hydroelectric Power Plant in Laguna.
"We will assist its rehabilitation through a technical partner, perhaps, then we will start monetizing them," Consing said at a media briefing in Bonifacio Global City.
The Agus plant has been producing power below full capacity of 700 megawatts since it was built in 1953 due to poor maintenance over the years. Energy experts said it can fill half of Mindanao's power requirement if combined with the output from Pulangi Hydropower Plant in Bukidnon.
Meanwhile, the Caliraya-Botocan-Kalayaan plant can generate up to 797 megawatts.
