
Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a fiber broadband and technology supplier, has given travelers an early Christmas present by providing free public Wi-Fi at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, the busiest NAIA terminal, which welcomes almost 13 million passengers annually.
This was consistent with its Free Pure Fiber Wi-Fi project, which, in collaboration with the Department of Transportation and a number of airport operators, aims to provide free connectivity to all terminals of nine domestic and international airports around the nation.
"A reliable and secure connection is a requisite to elevate the travel experience of passengers, especially this holiday season when the passenger volume in our airports is peaking. With this connectivity initiative, we hope we can make their journey smoother and more enjoyable as they experience the capabilities of a pure fiber connection," said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy.
Every registered user will be able to browse for two hours every day, thanks to the free public connectivity.
Converge users will get an extra treat: if they enter their GoFiber account number on the login page, GoFiber customers can enjoy an extra six hours of free internet access for a maximum of five devices. Once an account is created, prepaid fiber internet customers under Surf2Sawa may additionally take advantage of an additional six hours of free wifi for two devices.
For the convenience of passengers, the login page of Converge also features a facility to check their flight status.
Converge has also activated over 120 access points in the four-story facility, extending free access to reliable and secure connections to its arrival and departure areas, waiting, and retail areas.

Tuesday marked the official activation of the free Wi-Fi area. Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy and Department of Transportation (DOTr) Sec. Jaime Bautista, Officer-in-Charge Bryan Co. of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), Mayor Imelda "Emi" Gallardo Calixto-Rubiano of Pasay City, and CAAP Assistant Director General-II Capt. Thomas Tannhauser A. Fortun.
MIAA Officer-in-Charge Bryan Co said that the MIAA is committed to transforming their airports to align with global standards and improve the travel experience of their passengers. With Converge as their connectivity partner, they can ensure that their airport terminals are powered with a world-class infrastructure, establishing a more convenient, comfortable, and digitally connected environment for inbound and outbound travelers.
In addition to launching the free Wi-Fi area, Converge led the lighting of a 30-foot Christmas tree at one of the terminal's departure sections, bringing holiday joy to both travelers and airport staff.
Co added that the NAIA Terminal 3 is NAIA's largest hub, which has a total of 24 boarding gates and 140 check-in counters that can accommodate an estimated 60,000 passengers per day.
Converge plans to cover in its Free Wi-Fi project all four of the airport's terminals, kickstarting its rollout at NAIA Terminal 4 last July.
In the coming months, other domestic and international gateways will also be covered by the free connectivity, including Francisco Bangoy International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Bacolod-Silay Airport, Iloilo International Airport, Laoag International Airport; Pagadian Airport; Tacloban Airport; and Zamboanga International Airport.
