Basilan mourns board member’s death
Asarul was having snacks with his companion in one of the village’s refreshment stores when the incident happened

ISABELA CITY, Basilan Province — The provincial government here is mourning the demise of a provincial board member of the second district after he was shot dead in Sumisip town, Basilan province.
Basilan Gov. Hadjiman S. Hataman-Salliman disclosed Thursday that the victim — identified as Second District Provincial Board Member Nasser Asarul — was killed in Barangay Basak, Sumisip town at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
"This incident saddens us and we call on the police and military authorities in Basilan to leave no stone unturned in the investigation," Salliman said. "We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, friends and supporters of Asarul."
The governor narrated that Asarul was having snacks with his companion in one of the village's refreshment stores when the incident happened.
