The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration said on Friday that the Israeli government will provide financial assistance to slain overseas Filipino worker, Angelyn Peralta Aguirre, whose remains arrived on 3 November, at the AIR-PAGS Compound of the Manila International Airport Authority.

OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio said that the amount of money that the Israeli government will provide Aguirre ranges from P94,000.

"The Israeli government will also provide financial assistance. Aside from the funeral, it includes monthly cash assistance that ranges from P94,000 for life," Ignacio said in an ambush interview.

Ignacio added that the OWWA provided P220,000 to the family of Angelyn.

Aside from the financial aid, Ignacio said that the OWWA already prepared Angelyn's burial in Pangasinan and helped her family renovate their house.

"We first fixed the place where Angelyn is about to be buried, and I will inspect it again because I want everyone who is going to go to Angelyn's burial to be comfortable. We put in air-conditioning, generators, and urinals. Then we renovated some parts of their house, like their restroom and kitchen," Ignacio added.

When asked why the agency included the renovation of Angelyn's house, Ignacio said it was to lessen the grief of the family.

"Why did we do that? Because the family is going through a lot of pain. That is why we did that to reduce the family's grief," he said.

Angelyn, 32, worked as a caregiver in Israel and died on 7 October when her Kibbutz in southern Israel was attacked by Hamas Militants. She refused to leave her ward, an elderly Israeli citizen.
