Newly-installed Acting Manila Police District Chief P/Col. Arnold Thomas Ibay had reported only two minor security incidents during the observance of All Saints' Day.
Ibay said one was arrested for concealing deadly weapon (bladed materials) while the second involved a senior citizen suffering from dementia who was reported as missing.
In a report, Ibay identified the suspect as Antonio De Luna y Obrero male, 23 years old, vendor and a resident of 24th Street MNC Barangay 372, Sta.Cruz, Manila.
It was learned that the suspect resisted arrest when he was frisked by security personnel of the Manila North Cemetery and pulled out a bladed weapon demanding that he be allowed to enter.
The guard on duty, identified as Ryan Carino y Anos male, 43y/o, married, OIC of CSF MNC and residing at No. 630 J. Marzan Street, Sampaloc, Manila, however, stood his ground, leading to an altercation that led to the arrest of the suspect.
The incident occurred at the main gate of the Manila North Cemetery at 8:20 a.m. of 1 November.
The suspect, presently detained at the Blumentritt police station will be charged for violation of Art.151 RPC, Direct Assault on person in authority and R.O 864-C (Concealing Deadly Weapon) at the Manila City prosecutors Office.
The reported missing person was identified as Robert Duquilla, 64 years old. He was last seen at the exit of the Manila North Cemetery at 5 p.m. wearing a peach t-shirt, khaki maong pants and leather brown slippers.
