The People's Survival Fund Board has approved at least five adaptation projects endorsed by the Climate Change Commission, or CCC, amounting to P540.3 million.
Secretary Robert E.A. Borje, CCC vice chairperson and executive director, said the approval of the projects would advance climate change mitigation at the local and community levels.
Borje cited Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, the PSF board chairperson, for his leadership and commitment to advancing the objectives of the survival funds.
He said adaptation interventions to be implemented by local government units include the establishment of climate field schools for farmers, flood protection, river ecosystem management, installation of solar-powered pumps, and mangrove rehabilitation.
