Malacañang may have spoiled plans of a grand vacation as it indicated that 31 October 2023 is a regular working day.

"Às per (Office of the Executive Secretary), there is no plan (to declare a 31 October holiday)," Presidential Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil told Palace reporters in a brief message.

Marcos had designated 30 October, a Monday, as a special non-working day nationwide to enable citizens to participate in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.

This will be accompanied by two additional holidays on 1 November (Wednesday) and 2 November (Thursday), which will be the observance of All Souls' and Saints' days, respectively.
