Heavy rains will prevail over Central Luzon due to a "shear line" while Northern Luzon will be affected by the northeast monsoon or amihan, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Saturday.
PAGASA said the shear line will bring a significant amount of rain in the next two days, particularly in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Viscaya, Bulacan, Rizal Quezon and Camarines Norte until Sunday.
It warned about possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas.
The shear line will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila and CALABARZON. The amihan, on the other hand, will bring cloudy to light rains over the Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao and Kalinga.
It will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in the Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley, but will pose no significant impact, according to PAGASA.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said no low-pressure area was monitored inside the Philippine area of responsibility.
