Carlos Yulo attempts to cap his stint in the 52nd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships with a big bang when he competes in the floor exercise final on Saturday in Antwerp, Belgium.

Already assured of a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Yulo will nevertheless go for a podium finish in the event that gets going at 8 p.m. (Manila time).

This will be Yulo's fist final without long-time coach Minehiro Kugimiya.

"I want to do my best in the final," said Yulo, who is being mentored by Aldrin Castaneda.

"I want to win a gold medal."

Getting the job done won't be easy since Yulo will have to contend with two-time Olympic champion Daiki Hashimoto of Japan.

Also a big obstacle for Yulo is Artem Dolgopyat of Israel.

The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines is still on the lookout for a new coach who can monitor Yulo's progress, GAP head Cynthia Carrion said.

"That is our plan to go forward as he can get at least two gold medals in the Olympics."
