Cainta municipal administrator Keith Nieto ordered the police to implement warrantless arrests to individuals who took advantage and have taken away cases of beer that fell from a delivery truck in Junction.
A trailer truck carrying cases of beer crashed Tuesday afternoon along Ortigas Extension, Junction (heading towards Tikling), spilling on the road several cases of beer and halting traffic in the area.
Nieto said members of the town's municipal public safety office and local traffic enforcers assigned in the area will be held accountable for their failure to maintain order.
"It is their obligation to watch over goods that fall accidentally. Present to me all those who took advantage of the accident. Also the traffic enforcers who are supposed to help secure the liquors," he said.
"There was failure to maintain order in the area immediately after the mishap," he added.
Nieto called on those who took away the beers to return it and bring it to the lobby of the municipal hall until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
"By 7:30 tonight, I am ordering the entire police team of Cainta to conduct warrantless arrests to all who took advantage and took the goods," he said.
