The last Poker Dream festival of the season is underway at Hoiana Resort & Golf in Hoi An, Vietnam. Cards started flying at 12 p.m. last Friday, 29 September and will run until 8 October.
A total of 23 trophies are up for grabs and P40 Billion (US$1.64 million) in guarantees.
Last year, during the brand's first visit to this location, the venue was jam-packed daily resulting in record breaking fields and record breaking prize pools. It ultimately paid out a jaw-dropping P94.5+ billion (US$3.8 billion), the largest by any brand for the year in Vietnam.
For the next 10 days, Poker Dream will attempt to smash those figures with a thrilling lineup and a P20 billion guaranteed Main Event. Buy ins range from P4 million (US$ 172) to P25,500,000 (US$ 1,100). For high rollers, five events are scheduled with buy ins from P30 million (US$ 1,293) to P250 million (US$ 2,780).
The Vietnam Open P2 billion guaranteed kicked off the festivities with three flights running throughout the day. At the time of posting, Flight A registration closed with 109 entries. Flight B gets underway at 6pm and Flight C (Turbo) at 10:30 p.m. Buy in is P8 million(US$ 345).
Already seen in action were Chinese pro Yunsheng Sun, Hong Kong's Alan Wong, USA's Duy Ho, and locals Nguyen Quang Huy, Pham Tien Dung, Huyng Ngoc Cuong and Kyle Bao Diep.
