Angeles City, Pampanga — Authorities here reported that a Chinese national was arrested by police for robbery and extortion on a fellow Chinese last 25 September.
Citing reports from the Angeles City Police Office, the Police Regional Office 3 said that the Chinese victim reported the loss of his cellphone and contact with the suspect.
The report stated that the victim, whose name was withheld, allegedly demanded P100,000 from the victim, which prompted authorities to conduct an entrapment operation at the area, leading to the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the victim's stolen cellphone.
According to PRO3 director Police Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr., the swift action of the officers and personnel involved in the operation showed their dedication and efficiency in resolving the case.
He stressed that the Central Luzon police force remains unwavering in its commitment to uphold the law, regardless of the time, place, or individuals involved.
The apprehended suspect is now in police custody and will face the appropriate legal actions in accordance with Philippine laws.
