Alex Eala is assured of at least a bronze medal after she came back from a one-set deficit to prevail over Japan's Kyoka Okamura, 0-6, 7-5, 6-0, in the women's singles quarterfinal of the 19th Asian Games at the Hangzhou Olympic Centre in China early Wednesday.

Eala, 18, will be entering the semifinal and is poised to be the Philippines' latest medalist in the Asiad.

She will be playing along with SEA Games gold medalist Francis Alcantara in the mixed doubles at 3:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, 2018 Asiad gold medalist Margielyn Didal finished dead last in the eight-woman final of the women's street skateboarding.

Didal scored 23.39 points in her run but did not score in her tricks as hometown bets Cui Chenxi and Zeng Wenhui delivered the gold and silver medals, respectively.
