A week-long drive by the Manila Police District netted 45 drug suspects, 114 illegal gamblers, 14 wanted persons and 15 for illegal possession of firearms.
MPD Director P/Brig. Gen. Andre Perez Dizon bared this yesterday in a Weekly Accomplishment Report in the spirit of public transparency and access to public information.
On 17 to 24 September, multiple police operations were conducted in various parts within MPD jurisdiction that resulted in the arrest of 45 suspects in possession of 175.7 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1,357,600; 114 suspects were arrested for illegal gambling with a total of P24, 444 bet money confiscated; 45 suspects in the Wanted Persons list; arrest of 14 suspects and seized of 15 firearms for operations of loose firearms.
Violators of various city ordinances and special laws were also apprehended, with smoking in public places as the city ordinance with the highest number of violators at 2,576.
Other city ordinances with arrested violators include 665 obstruction, 588 half-naked and other ordinances, 15. There were 278 citations made for traffic law violations.
"The Manila Police District is committed to a proactive brand of policing and will be tenacious in our anti-criminality campaign to ensure public safety and public order in the city of Manila," Dizon said.
