Members of the anti-scalawag unit of the Philippine National Police have arrested an active police officer wanted for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and physical injuries in Manila.
In a statement on Tuesday, Brig. Gen. Warren De Leon, chief of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group, identified the suspect as P/Cpl. Mark Manuel Co, 40 years old, active member of Manila Police District.
De Leon said the accused policeman was arrested while on duty at Pritil (PCP-1) Tondo, Manila last 20 September based on the ordered issued by Manila Regional Trial Court, Branch 29 to serve his sentence for a maximum of less than five years.
The arrested cop is now temporarily detained at IMEG Headquarters Custodial Facility, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City for documentation prior to turnover of the arrest warrant to the issuing court.
