The Commission on Higher Education is seeking to place more attention on skills-based degree programs.
CHEd chairperson Prospero de Vera III said that they are already focusing on it, but they are still okay with traditional courses.
He also underscored the importance of internationalization of the Philippine higher education institutions, not only in terms of linkages with foreign universities, but also in terms of having close connections with the industry.
"We put more efforts into the new degree programs–the niche programs — which are in demand in other countries. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered us to focus on skills-based degree programs," De Vera said in an interview with DAILY TRIBUNE.
