Filipino rowers in men's and women's lightweight double sculls fell out of contention following a dismal performance in the repechage of the 19th Asian Games at the Fuyang Water Sports Center in Hangzhou, China on Thursday.
Edgar Ilas and Zuriel Sumintac clocked seven minutes and 10.97 seconds to settle for third in Heat No. 2 and miss the chance for a slot in the final round of the men's event.
They will still vie in the classification round on Sunday while the top two pairs advanced to the medal round.
Meanwhile, Feiza Lenton and Tammy Sha also suffered the same fate as they got relegated to Final B after clocking 8:05.56 for fourth place in Heat No. 1 of the repechage.
Lenton and Sha will also play in the classification round also on Sunday.
The Filipino rowers, however, still have a chance as Olympian Cris Nievarez and Asian Games silver medalist Joanie Delgaco compete in the semifinals on Friday for a chance to qualify for the medal round.
