In order to promote the revival of Philippine celebrations after the pandemic interrupted the majority of the nation's yearly festivities, AirAsia Philippines is preparing to provide its guests with a once-in-a-lifetime festive experience.

With the long list of incoming renowned festivals such as the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival in Tacloban City, the Halaran and Sinadya Festivals in Roxas City, the Masskara Festival in Bacolod City, and the Hermosa Festival in Zamboanga City, AirAsia Philippines aims to make the country's festivities accessible to all, ensuring that vibrant cultural events and the heritage of different cities are highlighted and enjoyed by both locals and tourists.

AirAsia Country Head for Communications and Public Affairs First Officer Steve Dailisan explained that festivities are deeply rooted in Philippine culture and are often associated with family reunions. AirAsia is strongly backing the strong return of festivities to foster inclusive economic growth in various destinations where they fly. It also views this as a good exercise as it gears up to expand its operations next year.

Dailisan said that to entice more local and international festivalgoers to fly and celebrate various festivities, AirAsia is once again offering a P99 one-way base fare! Available for booking from 4 September to 1 October 2023 and travel from 4 September 2023 to 31 March 2024, guests can grab a chance to fly to different local destinations in time for the celebration of festivals with the AirAsia Mega Holideals.

He added that by providing affordable airfare options, AirAsia is one with the Department of Tourism in achieving its goal of revitalizing the tourism industry with an anticipated 100 percent recovery of domestic tourism with a target of 4.8 million tourists this year.

The airline has also expressed strong support for fostering a stronger connection between the Philippines and the "Land of Smiles", Thailand.

Earlier, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri sought the commitment of the Department of Transportation to facilitate flights between Thailand and other tourist destinations in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Dailisan also said that, as one of the leading Philippine carriers backed by a strong regional network, AirAsia Philippines remains dedicated to empowering inclusive and accessible growth across the tourism and travel sectors. Should this proposal of Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri be realized, it expects the move to enable more inclusive growth across the nation's regional destinations, and it aims to do it with the best value.

For booking alternatives as well as any travel advisories and guidelines, AirAsia Philippines urges its customers to consult the AirAsia Superapp. It is recommended that passengers flying to various domestic locations arrive at NAIA Terminal 2 at least three hours prior to departure. At NAIA Terminal 3, visitors flying internationally will continue to come and depart.
