The left-leaning organizations are now spinning narratives that the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict is "sponsoring state terrorism," said National Security Council assistant director, Jonathan Malaya, on Wednesday.
In an interview with the ANC Headstart, Malaya disclosed that the members of the anti-insurgency task force will talk about the information that needed to be divulged regarding the recent declaration of activists, Jonila Castro and Jhed Tamano, that they were abducted by the military officers.
The government asserted there was a "turn of events" after Castro and Tamano claimed during Tuesday's press conference, organized by the NTF-ELCAC in Plaridel town, that they were abducted and threatened by soldiers, contrary to reports that they voluntarily surrendered.
However, Malaya noted that the NTF-ELCAC actually released a video of the two, administering their oath to the government.
"We released all of these videos to the media, but of course, these are all drowned now. These are all drowned by the alleged revelation that the government is now a sponsor of state terrorism," Malaya told the ANC Headstart.
"They are now spinning this to show that the NTF-ELCAC is now sponsoring state terrorism when in fact, the reality is not true and the facts will come out and there will be a discussion today about what to reveal about these two individuals so that the public can see both sides," he added.
Malaya said what Castro and Tamano declared during the press conference was different from what they both filed in their affidavits.
He added that the NTF-ELCAC along with the Philippine Army, Public Attorney's Office, and the local government unit in Bulacan that hosted the press conference, were "hoodwinked."
"We accepted them with all good faith. In fact, the Commission on Human Rights talked to them, they executed affidavits before the mayor of Angat, the PAO, and they said that they were ready to join the press con," Malaya said.
