BAGUIO CITY — A man was declared dead-on-arrival at the hospital while two individuals were still under treatment moments after they were shot by unidentified gunmen on Monday evening along the road in Barangay San Francisco, Cauayan City, Isabela.
The fatality was identified as Marlon Quijano, a resident of Pulong Tagalog, Barangay San Francisco, Cauayan City while the two other victims were identified as Joseph Benigno, village chief of Barangay Daburab, Cauayan City and Elpidio Camungao Jr., a resident of Pulong Tagalog, San Francisco.
Initial reports disclosed that the three came from Barangay Rizaluna, Alicia, Isabela after selling their harvest of palay and after they were sold, they decided to go home with Quijano riding his own motorcycle while Benedicto drove his motorcycle with Camungao as his backrider.
While they were along the road in Barangay San Francisco, a speeding motorcycle with unknown number of passengers overtook and started shooting at them. The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
