MORE launches electric shuttle

MORE Electric and Power Corp., Iloilo City's exclusive electricity provider owned by the group of businessman Enrique K. Razon Jr., has initially invested around P40 to P45 million to launch an innovative zero-emission and fully electric shuttle service in the city.
MORE Power collaborated with SM City Iloilo to launch 10 initial units of electric buses last 15 September, each costing around P4 to P4.5 million.
The shuttle service offers an initial route from the city hall to the Ceres Northbound Terminal, stopping at various SM locations from Monday to Saturday.
Roel Castro, MORE Power's president and chief executive officer, envisioned the introduction of electric buses as a means to support sustainability goals and address the city's need for more eco-friendly transport alternatives.
According to him, the electric bus leaves no pollution in its wake, contributing to cleaner air, quieter streets, and an overall enhancement of urban living conditions.
Accessibility, comfort ensured
Moreover, the e-buses are designed with amenities such as ramps and designated seats to ensure accessibility and comfort for all passengers, mainly persons with disabilities.
Anticipating further growth, MORE Power expects the arrival of two more electric bus units in October, with seven additional units scheduled to follow suit by year-end.
Additionally, they offer enhanced comfort and efficiency, contributing to reduced reliance on fossil fuels.
Aside from this sustainable initiative, MORE Power is also targeting to complete an industry-leading bill deposit refund to more than 700 additional customers by the end of the year.
The company aims to provide refunds to customers who have consistently paid their bills on time for three years, without experiencing any payment disruptions, consistent with the Magna Carta.
MORE Power is a sister company of Primelectric/Negros Power. It is partnering with Central Negros Electric Cooperative to improve the electric service in its coverage area. It is also committed to sourcing its supply from Renewable Energy generators.
