Members of the anti-scalawag unit of the Philippine National Police and Quezon City Police District have arrested an active police officer wanted for three counts of rape.
In a statement on Friday, QCPD chief Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan identified the suspect as Patrolman Kemberly Cyd Cela who was arrested on Tuesday night at the IBP Road in Barangay Batasan.
Maranan said the active cop was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Marikina City Regional Trial Court dated 11 September 2023 for the three counts of rape with no bail recommended.
The arrested suspect is now under the custody of QCPD. Apart from the criminal case, he is also facing an administrative case.
