The Eastern Police District has enhanced its visibility in public places, including malls and shopping centers, as the "ber months" start.
"We have increased the deployment of police personnel in areas near malls and shopping centers for the security and safety of mall-goers this holiday season," EPD Director P/Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta said in an interview at the sidelines of the 122nd police service anniversary and 49th EPD founding anniversary at the Megatrade Hall 3, SM Mega Mall in Mandaluyong City.
The EPD has given recognition to police stations, police personnel, as well as its partners from various stakeholders, for their contribution to the peace and order in the cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina and San Juan.
"We are here to give due recognition to our field units and to our individual personnel for their exemplary performance," Asueta said.
Asueta also said that the EPD will continue to serve with utmost dedication, especially in promoting human rights-based policy and community relation of the police.
"So, we are for the promotion and to maintain, of course, the call of our President [Ferdinand Marcos Jr.] in the rule of law," he said.
