

The Department of Foreign Affairs on Sunday said that no Filipinos were among the more than 2,000 people killed in the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Morocco on Friday night.
"So far, the Philippine Embassy in Rabat has reported that there are no casualties among the overseas Filipinos living in Morocco," DFA Assistant Secretary Paul Cortez told the DAILY TRIBUNE.
There are a total of 4,600 Filipinos in Morocco, the DFA said.
In a separate statement, Philippine Ambassador to Morocco Leslie Baja said the embassy is in touch with Filipino leaders and coordinators in various areas of Morocco.
As of 9 a.m. Saturday (Morocco time), the Moroccan Interior Ministry reported a total of 2,012 people had died from the earthquake.
