The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources has distributed fingerlings and feeds to farmers and fisheries groups in Lanao del Norte to support the livelihood of fisherfolk communities there.
The BFAR Northern Mindanao office said that the distribution of fingerlings is to support and uplift the livelihoods of fisherfolk communities in the province.
Lanao del Norte is a special Area for Agricultural Development Program Phase 2 through its Provincial Project Management and Support Office in the province.
The BFAR launched a comprehensive initiative involving the distribution of fingerlings and feeds to local fisherfolk associations and six out of eight identified fisherfolk associations in the province received livelihood assistance.
A total of 200,000 tilapia fingerlings and 132 bags of feed as partial inputs were given to Ragonan Farmers Association, the Linindingan Tilapia Growers Farmers Association, Mapantao Green Farmers Association, Matungao Integrated Farmers Association and Tangcal Fisheries Farmers Association.
