During Toyota's 35th Anniversary celebration held at the Grand Hyatt in BGC, Taguig City, The Tamaraw Concept was introduced in two possible versions: a sporty, street tuned pickup and a concept for a modern PUV jeepney, a nod to one of the original Tamaraw's popular uses.
The street pickup, inspired by Thailand's lowrider pickup scene, is equipped with a 2GD-FTV engine, a race clutch, limited slip differential and roll cage.
It is most unlikely that we will see a production model, but the concept is meant to showcase the possibilities of the platform.
Meanwhile, the concept PUV jeepney version is equipped with LED signboards, step boards, electronic door, air-conditioning, WiFi connectivity, CCTV, transport card support, LED lighting and seating for 10 people.
