ECHO ready to make noise

Reigning champion ECHO will bank on the same battle-tested crew when it sees action in Season 12 of the Mobile Legends Professional League.

Team captain Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera will be at the helm together with Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno, Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales, Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya, Alston "Sanji" Pabico and sixth man Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz.

Harold "Tictac" Reyes and Robert "Trebor" Sanchez will serve as coaches.

In a social media post, the organization announced its readiness to defend its title.

"From setbacks to triumphs, our MPL Season 12 roster is here," ECHO said.

"Witness the incredible journey of resilience and determination as we bounce back from setbacks to defend our championship titles. Get ready to be inspired by a tale of unwavering determination, strategic brilliance and the heart of a true champion."

Aside from winning MPL Season 11, ECHO also won the M4 Mobile Legends World Championship last January in which it pocketed around P16.9 million in cash prize.

Unfortunately for them, they fell short of winning the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup 2023 last June as they ended their run in Top 3.

Should ECHO advance to the grand finals of Season 12, it will earn a chance of defending its world title as M5 is set to be held in the Philippines for the first time later this year.

Yawi said they will compete in Season 12 with no pressure.

"There's no pressure now because we've already lost," the 21-year-old roamer said.

"There was pressure when we kept on winning because people did not want to see us lose. Now, we know what it is like to lose so there is no pressure anymore. We just enjoy the game."

M4 Most Valuable Player Bennyqt said should they make it to the M5, they are confident of beating powerhouse Indonesia.

"We have won two tournaments over Indonesia. Losing to Indonesia was unexpected," Bennyqt said.
