Barangay Ginebra San Miguel kept on track of winning a third straight leg title in the Philippine Basketball Association 3×3 First Conference Season 3 as it advanced right away to the knockout stage of the tournament Monday at the Ayala Mall Manila Bay.
Ralph Cu picked up from where he left off last week, scoring six points in the Kings' 15-12 win over Purefoods to open their campaign in Leg 3 on a rousing note.
Cu hit the game-winning deuce in Leg 2 a week ago when Ginebra subdued Meralco in overtime (19-17) to claim the first two leg championships in the opening conference of the season.
The Kings, eyeing to become the first team to win the crown in three straight legs, dispute the top spot in Pool A against Pioneer Elastoseal, a 15-14 winner over Purefoods earlier.
Ginebra and Pioneer, which also booked a berth in the quarterfinals, are still playing as off press time.
Meanwhile, TNT lost no time to get back on track as it won its first two games on the first day of pool play.
The Triple Giga turned back Blackwater, 21-18, and followed it up with a 21-15 victory over Cavitex to race on top of Pool C and a berth in the next round.
Almond Vosotros returned to action for TNT, which missed the quarterfinals in Leg 2 after playing with a shorthanded rotation.
