The University of the Philippines went on a 37-point demolition win, 99-62, over San Beda University in the SBP Invitational Games at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday evening.
Despite not having UAAP Season 85 Most Valuable Player Malick Diouf and JD Cagulangan, the Fighting Maroons were able to get the job done, even going as high as 42 points after a three-point play from Reyland Torres which gave UP a 95-53 lead with a little over three minutes remaining in the game.
CJ Cansino led UP with 19 points and Francis Lopez added 15 points.
On the other hand, Jacob Cortez led San Beda with 15 points.
Earlier, Ateneo de Manila University defeated Letran College, 90-85.
These games were a simulation for the Philippines in hosting the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
