Carlos Yulo picked up another silver medal in the men's individual all-around competition to open the Philippines' campaign in the 10th Senior Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships on Thursday at the OCBC Center in Singapore.
Yulo scored 85.930 points which were not enough to beat Japan's Shinnosuke Oka, who took home the gold medal with 86.065 points.
Another Japanese gymnast in Takeru Kitazono bagged the bronze medal with 85.431 points.
With Yulo getting into the top eight, he secured a spot in the 52nd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium this September.
Meanwhile, the Philippine men's all-around team, composed of Yulo, Juancho Miguel Besana, John Ivan Cruz, Justin Ace de Leon, and Jan Gwynn Timbang, improved to seventh place after scoring 237.193 points.
Next up is the women's event with Filipino-American gymnast Aleah Finnegan leading the charge.
