EJ Obiena resets the Philippine and Asian pole vault records after clearing six meters in the Sparebanken Vest Bergen Jump Challenge at the Skansemyren Idrettspark in Bergen, Norway on Saturday evening.

In one attempt, Obiena, 27, got over six meters and won the tournament in the process.

He eclipsed his previous best of 5.94 meters which was set during the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon last year.

KC Lightfoot of the United States settled for silver via countback despite also getting over six meters, while another American pole vaulter, Sam Kendricks, finished third place with 5.94 meters.
