PHNOM PENH — Joseph Sedurifa delivered the marginal basket and capped Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 men's basketball team's come-from-behind 21-19 triumph over defending champion Thailand in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.
Sedurifa, a dead shot swingman from J&T Express in the Philippine Basketball Association D-League, touched off the Philippines' big run from a 12-17 deficit on Sunday at the Morodok Techo National Stadium Elephant Hall 2.
Together with TNT's top guns Almond Vosotros and Lervine Flores, the trio mounted a big rally against a Thai team bolstered by American players.
The Filipinos refused to quit even when they found themselves on the brink of defeat as they summed up their energy for the final stretch and completed the rally.
The Philippines will face the winner of Vietnam and Cambodia for the gold medal.
