Chery Tiggo zooms past F2, gains lead
Games Friday:
(Philsports Arena)
4 p.m. — Cignal vs Petro Gazz
6:30 p.m. — F2 Logistics vs Creamline
Chery Tiggo displayed its relentless form from start to finish to overwhelm the shocked F2 Logistics, 25-19, 25-14, 25-16, and gain a share of the lead of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Mylene Paat was in her usual dangerous self as she led the unbeaten Crossovers to their third straight win in as many games to tie idle defending champion Creamline on top of the standings.
Smashing winners from every angle and shutting the door on F2 Logistics' frustrated attackers with an impregnable wall at the net, Chery Tiggo easily sent its unusually sluggish rival to its first loss in three games.
Paat displayed another Most Valuable Player performance as she finished with game-high 22 points she collected off 20 attacks, one kill and one ace for the Crossovers.
Chery Tiggo head coach Aaron Velez credited the whole team for its collective effort from scouting to perfect game plan execution.
"We know for a fact that F2 is not an easy team. They also had a two-game winning streak. It's really overwhelming and I'm very thankful," Velez, the architect of the Crossovers' first title in the PVL in 202, said.
"And of course, to the coaching staff for their support and information. It was really a perfect collaboration from all members ng team."
Shaya Adorador, who saw limited action in Chery Tiggo's win over Philippine Army, reintroduced herself with 13 points –- all from the attack zone — laced with six excellent receptions.
