Blackwater will be parading a rim-rattling National Basketball Association veteran as the Bossing attempt to resuscitate its title hopes in the Philippine Basketball Association Governors' Cup.

Sporting a 1-3 win-loss record, Blackwater is hoping that Troy Williams, 28, will turn its fortunes around starting 9 February when it plays Terrafirma.

Arriving from Taiwan where he last played, Williams caught a glimpse of Blackwater's brand of play on Saturday.

"It was only a two-hour flight. I was told by a couple of more friends, who played here, so might as well give it a try playing here," he said.

Williams nearly exceeded the 6-foot-6 height limit when measured.

The player who saw action several years ago with the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings, was officially measured 6-foot-5 and 7/8 and was cleared to take over from Shawn Glover, who was being bothered by a heel injury.

"I'm here to provide energy, a lot of highlights, because I'm a highlight player," Williams added. "I just want to go out there and have some fun."

Williams looks poised to do just that.

Six years ago, he ruled the NBA D-League slam dunk competitions.

"It was a lot of fun. It was in New Orleans," added Williams. "It was my rookie year as well and it's first time for me to do anything in an All-Star Weekend. It was a lot of fun, a lot of big moments and I came out winning."

"Troy Williams is a good player and to have somebody like him coming to the Philippines is great for the league," Meralco head coach Norman Black said.
