Celebrity cager Gerald Anderson proved that he is more than just a pretty face as he pumped in 19 points to lead KalosPH to a 102-93 victory over M7-RPBY Dental Clinic in the main game of the Cocogen Ballout Hoops Founder's Cup Season 2 Saturday at the Marikina Sports Center.
Anderson knocked in four triples in 25 minutes of action to lead KalosPH, which also drew firepower from Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League campaigner Genmar Bragais.
Bragais shared the backcourt with Anderson and led the way with 24 points while also pulling down seven rebounds and dishing out four assists.
Also ending up in double figures was Brylle Meca, who contributed 14 markers.
KalosPh's win overshadowed Marikina and Xentro Mall Rizal's convincing victories over their respective rivals.
The two teams from the MPBL showed too much class with the home team Shoelanders giving Antipolo City a sound beating, 99-80, and the Golden Coolers ripping One4BF, 88-72.
Coached by long-time mentor Elvis Tolentino, Marikina drew double-digit production from four players led by Jason Opiso, who came away with a solid game of 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Ralph Vincent Robin contributed 16 points and grabbed seven boards and dished out four assists, while Felipe Chavez added 13 and Raymond Casajeros chipped in 10.
