Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Eumir Marcial will fight for the fifth time as a professional on 11 February in the United States.
The fight will be for eight rounds with the heavy-handed Filipino lefty gunning for a big win so he can speed up his rise in the rankings.
Fighting in the powerhouse middleweight class (160 lbs), Marcial last fought in October in Carson, California and won against Steven Pichardo.
His strength and conditioning coach, Memo Heredia, believes Marcial will finally score a breakthrough victory next month owing to their long time working together.
In the event Marcial emerges triumphant next month, his next fight will be set for ten rounds sometime in June.
It is not yet clear if Marcial would still represent the country in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh if he is given a fight in June.
The SEA Games in Cambodia takes place from 5 to 17 May.
Recently, Marcial assured the Philippine Olympic Committee of his intention to suit up in the SEA Games and the Hangzhou Asian Games from 23 September to 8 October.
The Asian Games will also serve as a qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
