An official of the Department of Energy said Friday that prices of nearly all petroleum products are expected to increase in the coming week.
DoE-Oil Industry Management Bureau director Rino Abad said the increase in gasoline prices may range from P1 to P2 per liter.
"It's possible — P2. That's possible based on our estimate, although we still have Friday trading prices (to consider)," he said in Filipino in a radio interview.
Diesel prices per liter may also go as high as P2 while the price per liter for kerosene may exceed P2. Only LPG prices are expected to go down.
"We have a decrease, and this is somewhat big, amounting to more than P4 per kilogram. This is for 1 January. We are expecting this," he added.
Biofuel prices, on the other hand, may increase by P2 to P2.30 per liter.
