In her younger years, Sunshine Cruz did roles that required her to show some skin. In fact, one movie she was starring in was reportedly shelved because it got too daring for comfort.

But now, at age 45, Cruz doesn't mind being cast in a twisted Vivamax sexy-drama-thriller called An Affair to Forget.

In the movie, Cruz plays Rowena Ramos, a lawyer whose domestic life is in disarray. She suspects her husband Oscar (Allen Dizon) is having an affair, and seeks the help of a young sex worker, Beth (Angelica Cervantes), to seduce him.

Oscar, a struggling artist, begins an affair with Beth, who reports to Rowena the erotic details. Rowena confronts Oscar about it—who decides to mend his ways.

However, Beth falls hard for Oscar and hatches a plan against the couple using their son Charles (Karl Aquino).

For Cruz, it's all in a day's work. "It's a blessing," she said, adding she portrayed another sexy role, a cougar in the 2019 Cinemalaya entry, Malamaya.

This year, she finished two other projects—Jay Altarejos' Pamilya sa Dilim and Greatest Performance of My Life.

"Walang dapat ireklamo. Ang importante, may kuwento, may story. Mahirap humindi sa isang pelikula na kagaya nito," she said.

An Affair to Forget is directed by Louie Ignacio and produced by Viva Films. It started streaming exclusively on Vivamax starting 23 December.
