BAGUIO CITY — The local health office here are reminding residents of the city and nearby Benguet along with tourists in the areas to wear jackets and other thick clothing as temperatures in the province continue to drop.
Authorities reported that Baguio City experienced a drop of temperature up to 12.2 degrees Celsius due to the northeast monsoon or Amihan affecting Luzon as of 5 a.m. of 25 December 2022.
On 24 December, state weather bureau PAGASA announced that Baguio recorded 12.4 degrees Celsius, while warmest temperature of the day is at 20.2 degrees Celsius.
The weather is also enhanced by freezing strong winds blowing to the northeast amid cloudy skies. Scattered rains all over the city are expected because of the effect of the northeast monsoon.
The coldest temperature in Baguio City was recorded at 6.3 degrees celsius on 16 January 1961. The drop of temperature in the city starts as early as November to February of the following year.
