SPARK! Philippines and the Ateneo Human Rights Center, together with the United States and France Embassies in the Philippines, are working together for #RightsForAllRightsForEquality, a human rights forum and panel discussion held in celebration of International Human Rights Day and the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
United States Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson reiterated in her speech that the United States government remains highly committed to protecting women, children, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Makati City Mayor Abigail Binay, a keynote speaker of the event, vowed to commit to ensuring rights and protection among the most vulnerable sectors in society including women, children, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Panelists are Ann Dumaliang (co-founder and managing trustee of Masungi Georeserve), Kaye Brier (Philippine Daily Inquirer journalist), Princess Jacel Kiram (Chairperson, International Center for Peace, Reconciliation, and Development), and Police Lieutenant Colonel Mary Grace Riego Madayag (Chief, Anti-trafficking in Persons Division, PNP's Division of Women and Children Protection Section).
Former Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights Karen Lucia Gomez-Dumpit moderated the discussion and synthesized by former Councilor, author of Gender-Responsive Ordinances and Gender Equality advocate, Mayen Juico.
