No Xmas holiday for Hidilyn

Hidilyn Diaz will attempt to win her second gold medal when Paris hosts the 2024 Olympics.

Shortly arriving in the country from a rousing campaign in the 2022 IWF World Championships in Bogota, Colombia, Diaz admits she will have to work harder to realize that dream.

"It will be difficult but I am focused," said the Tokyo Olympics champion.

Though her 55 kg has been shelved, Diaz, who won three golds in Colombia early this month, believes she can still pull it off in the 59 kg event.

In fact, Diz already studied the competition in the 59 kg during her successful campaign in Bogota.

"I watched the competitions and I saw that I can still compete (and win)."

To show her seriousness, Diaz said she will use the holidays to get herself primed for 59 kg.

Diaz was met at the airport by World Cup bowling legend Bong Coo, who serves as a PSC commissioner.

If Diaz makes it to Paris, she will be 33 years old by that time.
