

BUTUAN CITY — Authorities here reported that law enforcement units in the city and nearby towns are conducting manhunt operations for an inmate who bolted the city jail in Barangay Libertad early Friday morning.
The Butuan City Police Station 3 disclosed that it was alerted around 6:35 a.m. by the Butuan City Jail about the escape pulled off by the inmate identified as Romulo Cadampog of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
Cadampog was charged with homicide in 2020 before the Regional Trial Court Branch 2 here.
"Based on the information provided by the personnel of Butuan City Jail, the subject is already a trustee assigned to the segregation of trash from the facility," the BCPS3 said.
It added that Cadampog escaped around 4:30 a.m. by using the dog cage as a footing in scaling the wall of the jail facility.
"We already relayed and coordinated the information to the other police stations to help in the manhunt operation," said the BCPS3
