Eight individuals including senior citizens and a child on 10 December died after a flash flood swept away the jeep they were riding in as it was crossing a river in Tanay, Rizal.
The jeep was said to have been rented by senior citizens to get aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Tanay.
At first the water level in the river was said to be low in the part of Barangay Sta. Inés. A jeep was able to cross it.
But moments later, as the second jeep bearing the eight people crossed the river, a wave of water overpowered the vehicle.
Residents of the barangay helped recover the eight fatalities.
Authorities are still looking for two more victims. Cherk Balagtas
